Music forms the individual's soul

In history, music plays a central role in human's cultural development. Very early drums show that already Stone Age men used music to communicate or to celebrate. Music derives its expression from the nine muses which all are patrons of the arts. Why was music in the acient world declared as one of the seven liberal arts? In any case it must have been a very high significance of music in human's life.

Music between arts and sciences

It is undisputed that music has an effect on the human mind and thus on the individual's souls. Since advisements of the ancient Greece the arrangement and playing methods were focused to obtain answers on how sounds are perceived by individuals. Scales, instruments and basic rules, how they must be used under different conditions were developed in almost any culture. But despite multiculturalism and new instrument technologies the central question remains, whether music should be built rationally and functionally or if it should be composed by the composer's own mind. There is no answer on this complex and personal question and in some way it is advantageous to let this anyone decide by himself.
