Zwar sind sich viele dieser Wichtigkeit bewusst, doch Hochspannungsleitungen erfreuen sich allgemein keiner grossen Beliebtheit. In dieser Hinsicht bietet die Digitalisierung grosse Chancen, den Verlauf zukünftiger Hochspannungsleitungen objektiver und demokratischer zu gestalten, indem verschiedene Meinungen so gut als möglich berücksichtigt werden. Das 3D Decision Support System (3D DSS) der ETH Zürich kommt diesem Bedürfnis entgegen und bietet Planern und Stromnetzbetreibern ein zuverlässiges Tool, um den idealen Verlauf einer neuen Hochspannungsleitung in 3D zu modellieren und dabei Rücksicht auf Gesetze, Schutzgebiete und die Ziele unterschiedlicher Interessensvertreter zu nehmen. Das Forschungsteam untersuchte während sechs Jahren diverse Aspekte, wie die Planung von Hochspannungsleitungen durch neue Ansätze teilautomatisiert und qualitativ verbessert werden kann. Die Resultate zeigen ein positives Bild, zumal die gesparte Zeit in eine vertiefe Analyse investiert werden kann, was wiederum die Verhandlungen um eine optimale Linienführung unterstützt. Das Forschungsprojekt zeigt auf, welches Potential das 3D DSS hinsichtlich Planung, Analyse und Kommunikation von Hochspannungsleitungen in sich birgt und schlussfolgert, dass solche digitalen Systeme in Zukunft eine wichtige Rolle bei der Entscheidungsfindung spielen werden.",
